Character Creation

Step 1: Species

  • Choose your character's species from the seven available for player characters. See "Universe Info - Player Character Species" for a description of each species. Each species has one or more genetic traits that differentiate it from other species.
    1. Earthling - Standard Humans and anthromorphic Animals native to Planet Earth.
    2. Saiyan - Warrior species from Planet Vegeta. The entire species was nearly annihilated by Freeza, but was restored with the Dragon Balls.
    3. Namek - A slug-like species native to Planet Namek. A Namek comes in one of two variants: Guardian or Shaman.
    4. Dragon - Half-dragon species from Planet Drackonis. A player character Dragon is born into one of two castes: Soldier or Mystic.
    5. Artificial Lifeform - Cybernetic (purely synthetic or partially organic) beings from various planets. They generally have the appearance of the majority species on whatever world they're built on.
    6. Freezan - A species of tailed psuedo-shapeshifters from an unknown planet. Their favorite past time is conquering other worlds and selling them to the highest bidder.
    7. Demon - A species native to the Next Dimension (namely Hell) that has somehow found its way into the Living Dimension. Members of this species are especially dangerous in their native dimension.

Step 2: Vital Statistics

  • A character has five Vital Statistics which describe his body, mind, and unique abilities. See the Combat & Damage Rules for a more in-depth description of what each Vital Statistic does for your character.
    1. Strength (STR) - This is a measure of a character's physical power. It represents how much he can military press, dead lift, and squat. The maximum encumbrance weight that a character may carry is relative to his strength. Strength also has an effect on the damage obtained when employing melee weapons and unarmed hand to hand combat.
      • A character's melee damage is determined by his STR score, adjusted by the rank of the melee weapon he is armed with. An unarmed character adds 1/2 of his KIC score to the damage.
    2. Endurance (END) - This stat describes a character's physical fitness, health, and bodily resistance to disease and infection. Endurance also affects a character's ability to resist damage from attacks, whether from weapons, spells, or other forms of energy manipulation.
      • A character's damage reduction is determined by his END score, adjusted by 1/2 of the appropriate statistic for the type of attack (STR for physical, KIC for energy/magic).
      • A character's health (hit points) is determined is the sum of his level and twice his END value.
    3. Perception (PER) - Perception measures reflexes, quickness, and balance. It is used primarily to determine combat awareness, reaction time, and ones ability to avoid, block, or deflect attacks.
      • A character's passive defense is determined by his PER score. A character's active defense is further adjusted by the appropriate statistic for the type of attack (STR for physical, KIC for energy/magic).
    4. Intellect (INT) - This stat is a combination of a characters I.Q. and intuitive powers. It encompasses reason, learning, and artistic ability, as well as his "sixth sense" - the ability to "feel" what is the best answer to a dilemma without having much information. A character's Intellect score determines how many powers he is innately aware; it also contributes to his Power Point total, which determines how many energy/magic attacks he can use each day.
      • A character's Power Point score is equal to his Level, adjusted by the sum of his Intellect and Ki Control scores.
    5. Ki Control (KIC) - This stat represents a character's attunement to his own inner energy network, or to the universe around him. Ki Control is the only vital statistic that can have a score of 0, which would represent a character that cannot use any spells or supernatural abilities. The higher a character's Ki Control score is, the more damage he is able to do with his energy and/or magic attacks. KIC also contributes to a character's Power Point total, which determines how many energy/magic attacks he can use each day.
      • A character's energy or magic damage is determined by his KIC score, adjusted by the rank of the power he attacks with (Basic adds 1, Intermediate adds 3, and so on).
      • A character's Power Point score is equal to his Level, adjusted by the sum of his Intellect and Ki Control scores.
  • A new character has 15 Stat Points to distribute amongst his Vital Statistics.
  • All stats except Ki Control must be greater than 0 before your character is acceptable.
  • No Vital Statistic may be higher than 4 at the conclusion of creation.

Step 3: Special Attacks

  • A new character begin play at Level 1, which provides the character with 1 Basic Move. A character of certain species or with a high Intellect score will receive bonus Moves.
  • As a character raises his Power Level (gains experience points), he will unlock more powers. See Level Up Rules - Power Level Chart for more information.
  • Visit the Level Up Rules - Moves & Techniques page for a listing of all the available powers that can be learned and select how many you qualify for.
  • Recommended for new Level 1 characters: Basic Energy Blast or Ki Flight.

Step 4: Finalization

  • Find an image for your character. Use a search engine such as Google Image Search or an artist site such as deviantART to find an appropriate image.
  • Write a biographical description for your character, briefly describing his or her history. This description should be at least a paragraph long.
  • Remember to post at least once each month after your character is added to the Members page.
